Luanna Flammia

I am an abstract artist who lives and works between Bedfordshire and London.
I apply mixed media on canvas to create vivid abstract forms, often interpreted as landscapes. I use gold foil and silver leaf as a base, or over the top, to insinuate the textures.

I am influenced by my heritage, where my family originate from a small village on the outskirts of Naples. My Mediterranean palette references my Italian culture whilst the context of my paintings are deeply rooted by connections within different types of relationships. I hold a deeply personal connection of painting, with every piece exploring a moment or previous experience. All artworks are made with poems, leaving the viewer to relate to a previous experience and help recreate a journey.

I am inspired by the abstract expressionist artists and the fluidity of paint on canvas. Although my artworks are structured, there is a fluidity in a sense of layering and transparency.
